EN 449 - Introduction to Literary Criticism (3)

Survey of the history of literary criticism, beginning with classical Greek thought and ending with poststructuralism. Focuses on specific literary works in relation to a wide range of analytical methods such as formalism, reader response, feminism, Marxism, New Historicism, and poststructuralism. Prerequisite: One lower level literature course. SP, odd years.
