IS 378 - Adventures in Science Education (3)

This course is an interdisciplinary investigation into the intersection of experiential science and education, embedded within a cultural immersion experience. Students in the course will collaborate, via technology, with university students in the host country in designing science laboratories. Students will then travel to the host country to implement the labs with their design partners and teachers in public elementary and/or secondary schools. Throughout this experience, students will examine the fields of science and pre-K-12 education, first through their own cultural lens, then subsequently through what is learned in the context of a culture unlike their own. 2015 CORE: Social Justice & Civic Life, Acquire.
