CR 262 - Criminal Justice (3) This purpose of this course is to provide students with an overview of American criminal justice system. Students majoring in criminal justice will be given a broad foundation of the knowledge needed to pursue advanced classes in the discipline. The criminal just system affects all citizens; therefore, for students not majoring in criminal justice, this course will increase general understanding of the criminal just system and institutions of justice. Topics to be covered include the history of the criminal justice system, policing, corrections, the legal system, and juvenile justice. Students are expected to develop an understanding of how the criminal justice system is intended to work versus how it works in reality. FA, even years.
