CH 344 - Biochemistry II (3) The study of metabolic pathways begun in CH 342 is continued through biosynthesis and catabolism of fats and proteins. Chemistry of nucleic acids and its relationship to replication, transcription and translation of genetic information, and recombinant DNA are discussed. Other course topics may include photosynthesis, neurochemistry, human nutrition, molecular basis of cancer, biochemistry of physiology, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, and biochemical evolution. 3 hours lecture per week. Prerequisite: CH 342 /BI 342 . SP.
