BI 214 - Organismal Biology (4) This course provides students with an integrated overview of organismal biology, with special attention given to the relationship between form and function in multi-cellular eukaryotes such as animals, plants, and fungi. Unifying themes will include tissue organization, physiological processes, growth, and development. Laboratory exercises will demonstrate unity and diversity of biological processes across multiple taxa, making use of quantitative methods to understand biological phenomena. Critical scientific thinking and communication skills will be developed during both laboratory and lecture periods. 3 hours lecture, 3 hours laboratory per week. Prerequisite: BI 111 or BI 112 , passed with a “C” or better. SP, odd years.
