BI 392 - Introduction to Research (1)

Through critical examination and discussion of primary literature, students evaluate different approaches to experimental design across biological and biomedical disciplines. Building on this understanding, students develop original research proposals in preparation for Honors Capstone Research. Throughout the course, the importance of engaging in the broader community as scientists is emphasized. Practical and ethical implications of actions taken and decisions made in the pursuit of knowledge are discussed through case studies. BI 392 is a required course for Biology and Professional Health Science students applying for Honors status within the major. Prerequisites: BI 111  or BI 112 , passed with a “C” or better; a minimum overall GPA of 3.3 at the time of enrollment.
