BI 152 - General Microbiology (4)

This course will provide students with a basic knowledge of the cell structure, function, nutrition, metabolic pathways, growth and genetic mechanisms of prokaryotic microorganisms and viruses. Clinical examples will be emphasized. Basic laboratory techniques for isolation, staining, and identification of microorganisms will be performed. Critical scientific thinking and communication skills will be developed during both laboratory and lecture periods.
