                  BI 351 - Introduction to Animal Behavior (3)  A broad survey of animal behavior from an evolutionary and ecological perspective. A hypothesis-testing approach to understanding animal behavior will be emphasized. Specific topics will include predator-prey interactions, group living, fighting and assessment, sexual selection, parental care, cooperation, and altruism. Examples will be drawn from a wide range of taxa, including insects, birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians.   3 hours lecture per week with integrated laboratory experiences. Prerequisite: BI 112  passed with a “C” or better, or permission of instructor.
