SP 112 - Fundamentals of Spanish II (3)

Continued study of the grammar and vocabulary and development of aural comprehension, oral ability, and the reading and writing of simple Spanish learned in SP 111 . It is designed to introduce the student to the Spanish language and the many facets of several Hispanic cultures, and to develop all his/her language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing, and has an end goal of effective communication and understanding and development of cultural empathy. This course will emphasize the learning of Spanish for real-world purposes through introductory grammar and basic vocabulary, writings, texts, presentations, and written communication with Spanish-speaking pen pals who are at the same or at a similar level of proficiency in English. Prerequisite: SP 111  with a “C” or better or at least one year of high school Spanish. 2015 CORE: Social Justice & Civic Life, Acquire, Global Studies. SP.
