EN 271 - African-American Literature (3)

This course will expose students to African American authors from the 19th Century to the 21st Century. The various notable authors range from Frederick Douglass to Toni Morrison. In this course, students will be introduced to many significant authors’ issues and their craft. By the end of the course, students will have an understanding of what it means and has meant to be an African American author writing in a society that has historically been hostile to them.
