The STEM MBA in Healthcare Management is an innovative 36-credit program that integrates advanced quantitative analysis, technology, and data-driven decision making with healthcare management principles. This unique curriculum prepares students to lead in the rapidly evolving healthcare industry be developing both technical STEM skills and strategic management capabilities. The program emphasizes the application of scientific methods, statistical analysis, and emerging technologies to solve complex healthcare challenges. Core MBA courses build a strong foundation in quantatative business skills, while specialized healthcare courses focus on using data analytics, health informantics, and operations research to improve healthcare delivery and outcomes. Students gain hands-on experience applying STEM concepts through a required Applied Research Project or Internship. The program culminates in a Healthcare Strategy Capstone that challenges students to synthesize their STEM and management skills to develop innovative, data-driven solutions for real-world healthcare issues. With its STEM-designated curriculum, this MBA provides international students extended OPT eligibility. Graduates emerge prepared to harness the power of data, technology, and analytics to drive innovation and efficiency in healthcare organizations. The program equips students with the technical expertise and leadership abilities needed to succeed in the increasingly technology-driven healthcare sector.

Outcomes

Criteria for Admission
The admission requirements for the MBA program can be found on the Admissions page. MBA students must also meet the following: - Have a grade point average of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all undergraduate or graduate level coursework. Students with a GPA of less than 2.75 or at least 2.50 will be admitted provisionally. Students admitted provisionally to the MBA program myst achieve a 3.0 GPA on the first nine credits in their program of study.
- The admissions committee will consider all applications to evaluate any additional prerequisite courses needed.
- Submit official transcript/s of the bachelor’s degree as well as any graduate level coursework.
Student Status
Good Standing - Has successfully met all entrance requirements;
- Has maintained an overall grade point average of 3.0 or better with no grade below “C.” Only 6 credit hours of “C” grades are allowed in the Counseling Psychology program. The School of Psychology determines for which courses a grade of “C” is allowed; and
- Has not yet received “Counseling Candidate” status.
Probation - A student may change status from “Student in Good Standing” to “Student on Probation” if any of the following criteria are met: overall grade point average falls below 3.0, the student receives a grade of “D” or lower during any semester, or the student has been placed on a remediation plan.
- Unless other specifications are noted to be addressed in the remediation plan, students on probation have 9 credit hours in which to return their grade point average to 3.0 or above to regain “Good Standing.” Failure to raise their grade point average may lead to dismissal from the program.
