HI 368 - Red Utopia (3) Using culture (especially popular culture) as the central category of historical analysis, this course explores the transformation of Russian society during the Soviet Union (1917-1991) in its effort to create a “New Soviet Human Being” and, thus, a revolutionary, communist utopia. Meets the upper-division requirement for World History in the history major.
