ED 207 - Geometry for Elementary & Middle School Teachers (3)

A conceptual and developmental approach to teaching non-metric geometry, including classification of shapes, measurement of lengths and angles, geometric transformations, symmetry, congruent and similar figures. These topics are treated with attention to the pedagogical and content needs of elementary and middle school students and teachers with a special focus on classroom discourse, while solving interdisciplinary and real-world problems. Prerequisite: Liberal Arts Mathematics course with a grade of “C” or better. FA.
