The 120-credit hour Bachelors of Applied Science (B.A.S.) is uniquely designed for those seeking an interdisciplinary education that bridges the gap between traditional academic studies and the practical needs of today’s industries. This program is for students that have completed an associate of applied science (A.A.S.) degree in technical or applied field and are looking to enhance their academic and professional business credentials. Required Core Courses
All candidates for the Applied Science major must take the following course as a part of their core, regardless of whether the core is otherwise met.
Social Science: EC 202 - Principles of Microeconomics (3)
Applied Science Major Requirements (30 credit hours)
Technology Requirement
Computer competency will be demonstrated by successful completion of EC 240 and EC 241 within the major.

Outcomes
Students graduating with a Bachelors of Applied Science (BAS) degree will:
Outcome 1.
Be able to use deductive and inductive reasoning to solve business problems.
Outcome 2.
Be able to effectively research a subject and present findings both orally and in writing.
Outcome 3.
Be able to apply knowledge about the economic, legal, and/or interpersonal environment in the creation and management of the organization.
Assessment
Summative outcomes for the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) are assessed through the projects in the capstone course (BU 497 or BU 498 ). Formative outcomes are assessed in individual courses as students move through the program. Each year data is gathered for one of the outcomes. Faculty review both signature assessments in each course and results from the capstone experience.
